---------------------------
What follows is some reviews of the
latest demos on the scene, I haven't
given any of them marks, make your
mind up by the comments...
Okay!, First up is `Flower power' by
Anarchy Germany, this demo was coded
by MCM and TRON with music by both
JESTER/SANITY and -MAT and gfx by
E.TOBALL! The demo begins with a nice
vector car chasing round a vector city
for a while before flying off into the
sunset, a nice bit about this that
many people don't know about is the
way you can control the viewpoint and
leave the car so you fly round by
yourself! Next there's a nice planet
that zooms in with some nice
blitter-scaling and then follows the
usual stuff, Glenz vectors etc, nice
large scrolly and a few other nice
other things. The tracking system for
this demo is pretty impressive, you
can remove the disk from the drive
even when it's being read and a
message will come up, place the disk
back in and the demo continues from
where it left off. To end it all off,
you get a brilliant fantasy pic in
hi-res which changes to low-res when
ya press the mouse and you get to
scroll the large screen around to see
the detail, this added with a spooky
4-MAT tune makes quite a nice if
slightly unfinished ending. Overall a
nice demo to watch with some pleasing
music and code, one to add to your
Anarchy collection!
PS: After some internal problems in
Anarchy Germany, Tron, MCM and
E.Toball were KICKED!! I really don't
know what led Anarchy HQ to do this...
--------------------------------------
Right, Second is 'Seen before' by
Scoopex, coded by Spycatcher. The
audios were performed by Hi-Lite and
the gfx were drawn by Mongole, Angel
Dawn and Executioner. As the title
states, this demo is composed of used
and seen before routines. The demo
begins with a really nice logo by
Angel Dawn (As always!) and then goes
straight into the demo, There isn't
much you can say about this demo as
although it's nice, it has usual
effects such as jelly cubes, vectors,
text screens etc. One thing I did
notice is the way they have tryed to
imitate Melon's unique style by using
strange roughly drawn patterns behind
things, but I'm not criticising this
as it suits the demo well. The music
is a really nice dynamic tune that
goes well with the demo and gets your
foot-tapping. Overall a nice little
demo that I enjoyed watching as I have
missed Scoopex's cool demos that they
used to do, now it looks like they are
back in full form! Nice one Scoopex!

Third and Finally is `Enjoy the
Silents' by TSL UK, This demo won
second place at the recent DIGITAL
party with Flower power coming third,
it is really a large intro promoting
their BBS'S but it is well produced
nevertheless, the text screens have an
interesting perspective effect on them
and the whole demo is backed up by a
lightish sort of tune by Oisten Eide,
All the usual effects are there with
text messages being displayed over a
large rotating vector and a neat new
effect with an above view chequerboard
spinnig round with a sinus wiggle on
it, quite effective! The graphics are
of quite a high standard with some
nice logos at the beginning and end.
Another original effect in this demo
is some dot-cubes, we have all heard
of dot-spheres but these are some
little cubes boucin' around covered in
dots!! Some of the effects aren't too
impressive and have been done before
but on the whole an interesting little
demo which is worth seeing.
Okay Freaks! Gotta go now, next time
expect more reviews (Watch this space)
